Terms of service
Last updated 14 January 2026
These terms govern your use of the Sellio platform. In plain terms: we operate the software and the courier network, the restaurant cooks the food and is responsible for it, and you pay the price shown before you confirm the order.
1. Who you are contracting with
The platform is operated by Sellio Company, 215 W Ohio Street, Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60654, United States. When you place an order, you enter into two relationships: a contract for the food with the restaurant, and a contract with us for the ordering and delivery service that brings it to you.
2. What Sellio does and does not do
We provide the ordering platform, take payment on behalf of the restaurant, and coordinate a courier. We do not cook, and we do not control how a restaurant prepares food, sets prices, or describes its dishes. Menu content, allergen information and item availability are the restaurant’s responsibility.
3. Orders, prices and payment
- The total shown before you confirm is the total you are charged. Sellio does not add fees after confirmation.
- Prices are set by the restaurant. Partners agree to publish the same prices on Sellio as in their dining room, and we audit this.
- Payment is captured when the restaurant accepts the order. If no restaurant accepts it, the authorisation is released in full.
- Sales tax is applied at the rate for the delivery address and is passed through in full.
4. Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel free of charge until the restaurant accepts the ticket, which is normally within 60 to 90 seconds. After acceptance, the food is being cooked and the restaurant is paid for it, so a cancellation is refundable only at our discretion.
Where an order arrives more than eight minutes outside the quoted window, the service fee is refunded automatically. Missing or incorrect items reported within 48 hours are refunded to the original payment method within one business day.
5. Delivery
Delivery windows are estimates built from measured kitchen and travel times. They are made in good faith and are not a guarantee. You must provide an accurate address and be reachable on the phone number given. If a courier cannot deliver after reasonable attempts, the order may be treated as completed and is not refundable.
Alcohol is delivered only where licensed, only from partners that hold the licence, and only to a person aged 21 or over who can show identification. Couriers will not leave alcohol unattended.
6. Allergies and food safety
Dietary tags come from the restaurant. Most kitchens are shared spaces and cross-contact cannot be excluded. If you have a severe allergy, contact the restaurant directly before ordering. Suspected food-safety incidents should be reported to support@selliocompany.org and are reviewed the same day.
7. Accounts and acceptable use
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account.
- Do not abuse the refund process, place fraudulent orders, or harass couriers or restaurant staff. Accounts doing so are suspended.
- Do not scrape, resell or republish menu, price or availability data from the platform without written permission.
8. Restaurant partners
Partner terms are set out in the partner agreement signed at onboarding. Commission rates are those published on our fees page. We give 30 days of written notice before any change to commission or fees, and a partner may terminate without penalty within that period. There is no exclusivity requirement and no minimum term.
9. Couriers
Couriers deliver as independent contractors under a separate courier agreement. Pay rates are those published on our courier page. Deactivation decisions come with a written reason and a review by someone not involved in the original decision.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability for any order is limited to the value of that order plus any fees paid on it.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email at least 30 days in advance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and the courts of Cook County have exclusive jurisdiction.
